Dr. Monzer Yazji

CEO

Dr. Monzer Yazji is CEO and founder of ASAS Heath, a value-based healthcare organization serving patients in South Texas. He has deep experience leading healthcare organizations in Texas and around the world. He is the CEO and Medical Director of the South Texas Diabetic & Metabolic Institute in Edinburg, Texas. He is a co-founder and current President of the Rio Grande Valley Diabetes Association in Texas and a co-founder of the Union of Medical Relief and Care organizations.

Dr. Yazji is passionate about providing care for communities around the world, travelling to Ukraine, Syria, and Haiti to provide medical care. He enjoys spending time with his family in Texas.

Marie Caligiuri

VP of Value Based Care

Marie Caligiuri currently serves as the VP of Value Based Care Transformation for ASAS Health. Her career focuses on making high-quality care more accessible to underserved populations. She has helped organizations succeed in value-based environments throughout the United States, putting Medicare patients at the forefront of strategy.

Marie holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Stanford University.

Dr. William G. Curtis

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. William G. Curtis is a physician in Corpus Christi with a passion for nutrition science and family medicine. He is the founder and medical director of Future Focus, a health and wellness resource for patients across Texas.

Dr. Curtis received his MD from the University of Texas Health Science Center in 1999 and completed a residency in Family Medicine at the Corpus Christi Family Practice Residency Program. He is passionate about creating online health resources and classes for his patients, emphasizing the role of diet in personal health and wellbeing.

Ramon Galbreath

Regional Operations Director

Mr. Ramon Galbreath, MSITM, MBA, as the Regional Operations Director for Regions 3 and 4 (Laredo and Corpus Christi). With more than two decades of experience in financial and health care management, Ramon is a seasoned health care leader with a diverse background in multi-practice management. His experience spans various medical specialties, including general surgery, cardiovascular surgery, oncology, family practice, emergency medicine, urgent care, ENT, maternal-fetal medicine, radiology, physical therapy and behavioral health. Ramon has held several key positions throughout his career, including Senior Business Administrator, Director of Operations, Director of Finance and Operations, and Director of Urgent Care, Medical OBS, and After-Hours FP Clinic.

Ramon received a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Information Technology Management from Touro University and a Bachelor of Science in Management/Computer Information Systems from Park University.

Dr. Luis M. Benavides

Regional Medical Director (Laredo)

Dr. Luis M. Benavides is a renowned family medicine physician serving the Laredo area since 1982. He has served on various committees in the Texas Medical Association including the council on legislation, the border health caucus, and the council on healthcare quality. He serves on the U.S. Mexico Border Health Commission as a presidential appointee and Texas representative.

Dr. Benavides completed medical school University of Texas Health Science Center followed by residency at Memorial Hospital in Corpus Christi. He is board certified in family practice, geriatric medicine, and hospital & palliative medicine. He has hospital affiliations with Doctors Hospital of Laredo, Providence Hospital, Laredo Nursing & Rehab Center and Laredo Specialty Hospital.

Dr. J. Matthew Johnson

Regional Medical Director (Upper Valley)

Dr. J. Matthew Johnson is a skilled physician with over 25 years of experience in family medicine. He is well regarded in the Mission, TX community, earning numerous accolades for his patient-centered care.

Dr. Johnson grew up in Baytown, TX as the oldest of 3 children. He completed Medical School at Baylor College of Medicine followed by residency and Geriatric fellowship at The University of Iowa. He is on staff at Mission Regional Medical Center, where he served on the Medical Board and the Pharmacy and Therapeutic Board. He served on the board for Fellowship of Christian Athletes leading quality, value-based care across the nation. He is the medical director at Legacy Hospice. He enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with his family.

Dr. Luis Delgado, Jr.

Regional Medical Director (Lower Valley)

Dr. Luis Delgado, Jr. has served the South Texas community since 1990. He is a member of the Hidalgo Starr Counties Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, and American and Texas Academies of Family Physicians. He also sits on the Board of Doctors Hospital at Renaissance and Cornerstone Regional Hospital in Edinburg, Texas.

He served in the US Army until 1981 and was honorably discharged as Captain. He went on to receive his Doctorate of Medicine from the University Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1987. Dr. Delgado completed his Family Practice Residency from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in June of 1990. Dr. Delgado enjoys spending time in the McAllen area with his family.

Yahaira Castro

Regional Operations Director (Upper Valley)

Before joining Alpine Physician Partners, Yahaira was Practice Administrator at Family Health Center in Mission, Texas, from 2019 to 2021. She developed and updated policies and procedures, maintaining compliance with statutory, regulatory, and local, state and federal guidelines relating to HIPAA, benefits administration and general liability. She also designed and introduced leadership development.

She holds an MBA from American Intercontinental University. Yahaira is a mom of three and enjoys ballet, tap, Folklorico and piano.
